In formulating its strategies, the NKF launched its Public Education Unit in January 2001, to carry out public exhibitions, health talks, seminars and conferences that serve to raise awareness of kidney diseases and their prevention and management.
Today, the Unit has developed further with its preventive message being aired on radio, television and the print media.
Slowly but surely, the Unit is making strides and informing the public of the need to guard against diabetes and hypertension, two of the major causes of end-stage kidney failure.
